1. Crushing first and then batching process

This process refers to the process of pulverizing the granular raw materials first, and then entering the batching bin for batching mixing. This process is mainly suitable for the situation where the grain content in the ingredients is high, and this process is commonly used in domestic and foreign animal feed processing factories.

(1) There are two ways of feeding:

The first method is to set a feed opening in the workshop or the feed room. This method is mostly used in small and medium feed factories. Manually transport the bagged raw materials (usually with a trolley) from the raw material warehouse into the workshop or the unloading room into the lower hopper.

The second method is to set up a discharging port in the raw material warehouse, and the raw materials are sent to the main workshop by a horizontal conveyor (mostly a scraper conveyor). Large and medium-sized feed factories mostly use this method.

Either way, a grid screen is installed on the upper part of the lower hopper as the first step of the cleaning process.

(2) After material transportation and lifting materials are put into the lower hopper, they are directly lifted by the bucket elevator (first method) through the chute into the primary cleaning screen or horizontally conveyed by the horizontal (scraper) conveyor (second type) Method) Afterwards, it is lifted by a hoist and enters the primary cleaning screen through the slide pipe.

(3) Cleaning After adding a primary cleaning screen to remove non-magnetic impurities, then flow through the permanent magnet cylinder to remove magnetic impurities and then enter the smashing bin.

(4) Feeding and crushing The materials in the bin to be crushed are fed to the crusher by the feeder and crushed.

(5) The pulverized materials that are output and enter the batching warehouse or finished material warehouse are separated from the air by various methods and input into the batching warehouse or finished product warehouse.

The process is to mix all the various raw materials participating in the ingredients according to a certain proportion and weigh them with the ingredients scale, and then add them to the crusher to crush them. Compared with the powder first and then the mixing process, the process route (material trend) and the order of smashing are exactly the opposite, and the other feeding, cleaning, conveying and lifting are similar. But pay attention to two points:

①It is necessary to strengthen the cleaning of materials (granules and auxiliary materials) before ingredients, otherwise it will cause harm to the subsequent process;

②The cleaning of pellets and powder should be carried out at the same time, which is conducive to the subsequent processes.

Section A: RECEIVING AND STORAGE RAW MATERIAL

In this initial phase the supply of substances for the desired recipe is determined. Normally a reception pit is foreseen where the raw materials are delivered. Through extraction screws and elevators the substances are loaded in the storage silo.

Section B: DOSING COMPONENTS

The raw materials are conveyed by a screw to the scale where they are weighed and dosed for the creation of the requested recipe.

Section C: GRINDING

Section D: MIXING AND ADDING MICRO-COMPONENTS

The product is loaded in a horizontal mixer where it will be mixed and homogenized for a certain period; in this phase other micro-components can be added, like integrators or additives, necessary to the recipe.

Section E: STORAGE FLOUR AND PELLETING

The product is now ready and could be stored for delivery or sent to the pelleting line. The material is entering in the chicken cattle feed pellet milling machine passing through the conditioner. Here other ingredients like steam, molasses and grease could be added, before the material goes into the pellet pressure chamber to be transformed into pellets by the die. On the outside of the holes some knives cut the pellets at the desired length.

Section F: COOLING, SIEVING, DUST RECOVERY

After pelleting, the product is very hot, therefore it's necessary to cool the product at approximately +5°C in respect to the room temperature, in order to give it the right hardness and the best consistence to store and handle it.

In the sieving phase the product is cleaned from the dust, which is brought back into the production cycle.

Section G: STORAGE END PRODUCT

The pelleted product is conveyed to the silo for storage before delivery. It can be loaded in a truck in bulk or conveyed to the packaging line.

Section H: PACKAGING

The pelleted product is conveyed to the silo for storage before delivery. It can be delivered in bulk, loaded on trucks or packed in sacks or big-bag. The machines for packaging could be manual, semi-automatic or automatic, based on the requested production.
