Moisture Control of Suckling Pig Pellets in Pig Feed Production Factory
1. Moisture content and influence of pellets for suckling pig
(1) Moisture content of suckling pig feed pellets
In winter and spring, due to the low temperature, pig feed manufacturers often use newly-marketed corn, which has a relatively high moisture content. After pig feed pelleting, the moisture content is about 13%, which can basically meet the quality control requirements. However, in summer and autumn, the moisture content of pig feed ingredients is between 11% and 13%. In addition to the high temperature, part of the moisture content of feed ingredients is lost in the process of pig feed crushing, pelletizing and pretreatment, making the moisture content of finished feed products 9% to 11%.
(2) The influence of pellet moisture on the performance of suckling pigs
Pellets have too high water content, low nutrient concentration, and are prone to mold and deterioration during use; too low water content of pellets will reduce the gelatinization and digestibility of starch, and the hardness of the particles will affect the palatability and feed intake of suckling pigs.
(3) The influence of particle moisture on mechanical wear and pig feed line production efficiency
The lower the moisture content of the suckling pig pellets, the more severe the mechanical wear and the lower the production efficiency. The production efficiency of granular material moisture is 11%~13%, and the mechanical wear is light.
(4) The impact of the moisture content of pellets on the economic benefits of pig feed mill factory
The moisture content of pellets not only affects the quality of the suckling pig feed, but also affects the yield and economic benefits of the product. A suckling pig feed production enterprise with an annual output of 20,000 tons of pellets can lose up to 2 million yuan in economic benefits (calculated based on an annual output of 20,000 tons, adjusted for moisture content, 2% per ton, and 5,000 yuan per ton). Adjusting the production process parameters according to the different climates of the production season and changes in the moisture content of the raw materials can significantly improve the feed quality and the economic benefits of the suckling pig feed pellet making plant.
2. Methods to increase the moisture of pellets during suckling pig feed processing
(1) Moisture control during the crushing of raw materials
By comparing and analyzing the results of using suckling pig feed pulverizer screens with different apertures, it is found that the moisture loss of raw materials after pulverization increases significantly with the reduction of the pulverized particle size of the raw materials. As the moisture content of the raw material increases, the crushing efficiency is also significantly reduced, and the energy consumption will also increase. The water loss during the crushing of raw materials is generally about 0.5%.
(2) Moisture control during suckling pig feed mixing process
The water loss during the suckling pig feed mixing process is very small and can be ignored. When the moisture content of the mixed powder is relatively low, consider spraying atomized water when the materials are mixed. However, there are many problems in adding water in the suckling pig feed mixing equipment that must be paid attention to:
①The water added to the suckling pigs fodder mixer machines can not be directly used as tap water, it needs to go through special treatment or add anti-mold agent.
②The number and size of nozzles should be arranged, and the position and spray rate of the nozzles should be adjusted to ensure uniform spraying.
③Clean up the pig feed mixer and the granulation bin after the end of production every day to avoid the residual materials on the inner wall of the mixer and the granulation bin.
④Real-time monitoring of the moisture and weather changes of the raw materials and final products, and determine the amount of water added during mixing according to the monitoring results to ensure that the moisture content of the final product is within a safe range.
(3) Moisture control during conditioning process
Steam conditioning is a key process in pig pellet feed processing. The conditioning effect directly affects the quality of pellets and the moisture content of the finished feed. Steam quality and conditioning time are two important factors that affect the conditioning effect. In the suckling pig pellet feed production process, you can adjust or close the trap and use low-pressure steam to increase the conditioning time of the material in the conditioner to fully mix the material with the steam, so that the material can fully absorb the moisture in the steam, thereby increasing the moisture of the product.
(4) Choose the right ring die of ce high quality horizontal suckling pig feed pellet granulator machine
The aperture and compression ratio of the suckling pig feed pellet mill's ring die are the main factors affecting the suckling pig feed pellet making machine's productivity, and it is also one of the factors affecting the moisture of the suckling pig feed pellet product. A ring die with a small aperture, because of its small particle diameter, the cooling air volume of the cooler easily penetrates the feed pellets, so more water is taken away during cooling, and the feed product moisture will be lower. Conversely, the material ring die with a large aperture has a larger particle diameter, and the cold wind cannot easily penetrate the particles, so less water is taken away during cooling, and the feed product moisture will increase. For the ring die with relatively large compression, during the suckling pig feed pelletizing process, the friction resistance is relatively large, and the material is not easy to pass through the aperture. During the extrusion granulation, the friction temperature is high and the water loss is large, and the moisture of the feed pellets will be reduced. Generally, the suckling pig feed uses a ring die with a relatively small aperture, so choosing a ring die with a low compression ratio is beneficial to improve the quality and moisture content of the suckling pig feed pellets.
(5) When the pellets are cooled, choose the appropriate cooling air volume
The purpose of the suckling pig feed pellet cooling process is not only to reduce the temperature of the pellet feed so that it does not exceed the room temperature 3℃; it can also take away the moisture in the feed, so that the moisture of the feed product meets the specified requirements, and the finished product is set according to the moisture before the finished product is cooled. The cooling parameters to avoid excessive water loss.
