Recently, a customer asked us the question "Can the layer feed be used to feed layer ducks". This is indeed a problem that needs to be explained. Because some chicken farms want to raise ducks, they must consider feed, cost, etc. If laying ducks can eat laying hen feed, then there is no need to purchase compound feed or process feed by themselves. Today, Richi Machinery will popularize this question:

1. Raw materials for laying hen feed and laying duck feed
The proportions of feed consumed by laying hens and laying ducks in their respective growth periods are different, but the main raw materials include:
Laying hen feed is higher in protein content than laying hen feed in the same period, so it is not necessary to add anything to feeding laying hens with laying hen feed, which is costly to feed.
In fact, some customers also questioned that chickens like drought and ducks like wet, and the two poultry habits are different. How can their feeds be mixed? In fact, if conditions permit, it is recommended to configure it separately and feed it in a targeted way, so that it is more scientific. Here are some recipes recommended by Ruiqi for everyone:

【Principles for laying duck feed】

(1) Feed ingredients. The formula should be easy to use when selecting raw materials. It is required that the quality of feed raw materials is stable, the quantity is sufficient, the price is appropriate, and it has local resource advantages. The feed should be kept fresh. In order to prevent mold from spoiling, the feed should be stored in a dry place, and the feed should not be stored in the duck house.
(2) Suitable nutrition. Formulating the diet of laying ducks should determine the appropriate nutrient concentration of the compound feed according to the age of the ducks and the feed intake. The reference formula is:
a. Egg ducklings (1-8 weeks): corn 58.7%, soybean meal 26%, rapeseed meal or cotton meal 7%, stone powder 4% (bone meal and shell meal are acceptable), premix 4%, Table salt 0.3%. During the first week, the ducklings are advised to feed all pellet feed at full price.
b. Duck in egg (8 weeks to start production): corn 64%, soybean meal 16%, rapeseed meal or cotton meal 6%, stone powder 9.7% (bone meal and shell meal are acceptable), pre-mix 4% , salt 0.3%, suitable amount of Kinsey.
c. Egg laying period duck: Corn 51%, soybean meal 22%, rapeseed meal or cotton meal 3%, secondary powder 10%, stone powder 9.7% (bone meal and shell meal are acceptable), premix 4%, salt 0.3%.
(3) Use additives. The main components of additives are amino acids, vitamins and minerals. The data confirmed that the addition of 80 grams of methionine and 50 grams of lysine to the 50 kg conventional laying duck diet reduced the fishmeal from about 4 kg to about 2 kg, and the egg production and egg weight will not be affected. Vitamin additives can completely replace the nutritional function of green fodder, not only can supplement vitamins, but also save a lot of green fodder, reduce the labor intensity of duck farmers, and reduce the production cost of duck breeding.
