As a typical landlocked country, Uzbekistan’s aquaculture mainly relies on fresh water resources such as rivers and lakes. In recent years, aquaculture has developed very well because of the progress of science and technology and the support of the government. The scale and output of aquaculture have been increasing, so the demand for aquatic feed has been increasing.
At present, Uzbekistan can produce very few professional aquatic feeds, especially those high-end and efficient compound feeds.
Most of them need to be imported from Russia, China, Turkey and the European Union. As a result, the cost of feed will become higher, after all, it is necessary to count tariffs and logistics fees, and the supply is still unstable, which is easily affected by changes in the international situation and trade policies.
In order to reduce the cost and ensure the feed supply, Uzbekistan’s aquatic feed market is in a critical transition stage.
The market should shift from “dependence on imports” to “local manufacturing”. Therefore, whether it is local capital or foreign capital, it will be the main direction in the future to invest in the construction of aquatic feed processing plants here, and there are great business investment opportunities hidden in this market.
Client Project Details
Our collaborative feed pellet production project was located in Uzbekistan. The customer’s core requirement was to build a composite feed pellet production line capable of producing both floating fish feed for aquaculture and animal feed suitable for chickens, cattle, sheep, and other livestock.
Customers will decide to do this project, mainly because they have a good look at the local market opportunities in Uzbekistan. However, they doesn’t know much about the equipment performance and specific production process of the fish feed pellet machine. In order to reduce the risk of trial and error, they initially planned to start from a small scale and give priority to building a special production line that can produce 1 t/h floating fish feed.
During early discussions, the customers repeatedly expressed concerns about the operational performance and production details. Therefore, we invited them to visit our factory.
During the visit, the customer closely observed the operating principles of the floating fish feed machine and the automated production line. They also had face-to-face discussions with our technical team on key issues such as raw material compatibility, production capacity control, and quality control. Their concerns about cooperation were completely resolved, and they decided to deepen the partnership and adjust their plan to a “composite production line” that would accommodate both fish feed and animal feed production.
After the customer clarified their revised cooperation direction, we analyzed and optimized the overall fish feed plant project development strategy. This was informed by our research into Uzbekistan’s local raw material supply chain and livestock/aquaculture market demands.
Custom-Tailored Solution
This feed pellet line is semi-automatic integrated feed pellet line. Since it is used to produce both floating fish feed and animal feed pellets, both feed extruder and feed pelletizer are used in this production line.
The entire feed pellet line mainly includes the following sections:

After cleaning and impurity removal, The raw materials for producing animal feed only need to be crushed once, but the production of floating fish feed requires a higher particle size of the raw materials, which requires two crushings. The fineness of the crushed material is about 1mm.

The crushed materials and premixes, vitamins, additives, etc. are evenly mixed in the mixer. The mixing time is about three minutes, and the mixing time can be adjusted according to the different raw materials.The mixed materials are sent to the extrusion bin or pelleting bin.

Extrusion System
The production of floating fish feed requires feed extruder, which has single-screw extruders and twin-screw extruders. After comprehensive consideration, the customer decided to use single-screw extruder. After extrusion, the feed pellet can float on the water surface for a long time.

Sistem Pelet
Feed pellet mill is needed to produce cylindrical feed pellet that meets the growth needs of chickens, cattle, sheep and other animals. The capacity of 1-2 tons of feed pellet line is not large, so it is equipped with a small feed pellet mill.

Sistem Pendinginan
Whether it is the feed coming out of the extruder or the pellet mill, the temperature is relatively high, especially the feed coming out of the extruder. Therefore, considering the rapid cooling of the pellets, a cooler is equipped.

The processed feed pellets can be packaged into 10-50 kg bags of feed according to sales needs through the packing machine. Customers can greatly save manpower by choosing to use automatic packing machine.

Complete Combined Feed Production Line Delivery Process
Machine Production
This is a customized combined feed pellet production line. The equipment on the entire feed production mill began production after the contract was signed.
The production cycle of this fish feed and animal feed pellet production line is 45 days. After the customer confirms the plan and signs the contract, our factory will develop a detailed production plan to ensure that the equipment can be produced within the agreed time.
During the 45-day production process, we will regularly send customers pictures and videos of the finished feed pellet eqipment or some semi-finished feed pellet production equipment so that customers can understand the entire production process of the equipment they purchased.
Equipment Delivery
After all the feed pellet production equipment is produced within 45 days, we will ship it according to the delivery time communicated with the customer in advance.

Installation, Commissioning, and Training
After all the feed pellet production equipment was delivered to the customer’s feed pellet production project site, we sent two engineers to the feed production pellet project site to provide installation guidance.
After the installation was completed, training and guidance was provided to the staff of the fish feed pellet mill.
The warranty period of this compound fish feed and animal feed pellet production line is one year. If any problems occur with our equipment within one year, we will do our best to help customers solve them as soon as possible.

Operational Status
This feed pellet production project started investment and construction in 2019. After completion, the feed pellets produced have been quite ideal, and customers have always had a good relationship with us.
Nowadays, with the development of aquaculture, the requirements for aquatic feed are also increasing. The customer later purchased a spraying machine to increase the oil content of floating fish feed to meet the energy needs of fish growth.
And currently customers are discussing with us plans to expand feed production capacity.
Types of Feed Suitable for Production In Uzbekistan
Considering Uzbekistan’s unique breeding practices and demands, locally produced feeds are highly practical, varied, and well-suited to its agricultural model. They focus on two core types: freshwater fish pellets and complete animal feed mixes, aligned with the nation’s primary farmed animals.
（1）Freshwater Fish Feed
Uzbekistan focuses on freshwater aquaculture, mainly cultivating Cyprinid fish and some predatory species. Mostly uses pelleted compound feeds categorized as follows:
Bottom fish feed (carp, crucian carp…)
Submerged pellet feed with the largest demand and the most mainstream in Uzbekistan.
Filter-feeding fish feed (silver carp, bighead carp…)
Silver Carp primarily consume plankton plants; Bighead Carp target zooplankton.
Herbivorous fish feed (grass carp, bream…)
